Suspense in Paris: What Season 4 of Emily in Paris Has in Store!

“Emily in Paris” follows the adventures of an ambitious young executive from Chicago who lands her dream job in the iconic city of Paris. In the French capital, Emily finds herself entangled in increasingly extravagant escapades. Today, the first part of the fourth season is dropping on Netflix, and we had the chance to preview the first three episodes.

The third season of Emily in Paris ends in chaos for Emily. Everything unravels during Gabriel and Camille’s surprise wedding, an event that quickly spirals into disaster. Camille ultimately refuses to marry Gabriel, publicly revealing that he is actually in love with Emily. Attending the ceremony with her boyfriend Alfie, Emily finds herself in a tough spot. Devastated, Alfie leaves, while Gabriel is left in confusion. Soon after, Emily learns the reason behind the rushed wedding: Camille is pregnant with Gabriel’s child. This series of twists and turns brings the third season of Emily in Paris to a dramatic close.

The fourth season of Emily in Paris picks up right where the third left off, throwing Emily into a whirlwind of personal and professional dilemmas. After the chaos of Camille and Gabriel’s aborted wedding, Emily finds herself torn, unable to choose between Alfie, whom she deeply loves, and Gabriel, for whom she harbors equally strong feelings. Her struggles extend beyond her love life, as her boss Sylvie faces her own past demons. Meanwhile, Mindy, Emily’s best friend, and her band are gearing up for Eurovision, but a lack of funding threatens their dream, forcing Mindy to make some tough sacrifices. This season promises to be full of emotional ups and downs, offering a rollercoaster of experiences for all the characters.

We had the opportunity to watch the first three episodes of the fourth season of Emily in Paris. While this is not enough to form a complete opinion, this initial batch lays a solid foundation for what’s to come. It sets up perfectly for the second half, which is scheduled for September 12. We see Emily disoriented but forced to regroup and mature. According to Darren Star, the show’s creator, and Lily Collins, who plays Emily, this season revolves around the central theme of personal growth. While previous seasons focused on Emily’s attempts to culturally integrate into Paris, this time she will concentrate on building and deepening her relationships. Lily Collins also revealed that Emily will be bolder, more vibrant, and will take on a bigger role this season. This is evident by the end of the first part: against all odds, Emily even sets aside her phone, showing a new facet of her evolution as someone who once lived through her screen.

Unfortunately, we can’t reveal more details. Although the first episodes are packed with events, Netflix wants to keep the suspense intact. What we can say, however, is that we thoroughly enjoyed watching these episodes, and it’s a genuine pleasure to see Lily Collins return as Emily. Her performance continues to captivate and bring undeniable freshness to the series.
