The Umbrella Academy: An Unexpected Ending for the Series!

After three seasons that sparked many debates, The Umbrella Academy will bid farewell with a final season. Indeed, the fourth season will mark the end of this iconic series. We had the chance to watch this final season in an exclusive preview, and here is our review:

The first season of The Umbrella Academy takes us to October 1989, when 43 women around the world simultaneously give birth to children with extraordinary abilities, despite none of them having been pregnant. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire inventor, adopts seven of them and founds the Umbrella Academy. Here, the children grow and develop their different powers. Seventeen years later, after having been scattered, they reunite for their adoptive father’s funeral, only to learn that the apocalypse will occur in eight days. They succeed in saving the world.

In the second season, we find them in 1963, facing another impending apocalypse. Their mission: to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy. If he is not assassinated, a new apocalypse threatens the world. Once again, they succeed.

Finally, in the third season, the Umbrella Academy finds itself trapped in a new temporal anomaly. They must face the Sparrow Academy and yet another impending apocalypse. As expected, things do not go as planned.

The fourth season follows directly from the previous one. The members of the Umbrella Academy find themselves without powers and more broken than ever. And, for something unprecedented, they are once again facing an apocalypse.

After a third season that left us somewhat unsatisfied, we were pleasantly surprised by the subsequent events. The Umbrella Academy has managed to regain its momentum. This final season, though short, keeps the pace brisk and events unfold seamlessly. As the conclusion of the series, it’s clear that the creators gave it their all. Following a mediocre third season, our attachment to the characters quickly resurfaces. The most dysfunctional family on the small screen must unite one last time to save the world, with Ben now at the center of the problem. It’s refreshing to see the plot focus on a different family member than Number Five (even though we love him!).

“One last chapter” and “One last chance to save the world” — that’s exactly what’s stated in the trailer. The fourth season of The Umbrella Academy is the conclusion to it all. It answers all the questions we’ve had since the first season. This season also demonstrates that, despite being scattered and completely different, the members of the Umbrella Academy love each other and form a single, united family.

We were particularly moved by the series’ ending. This conclusion to the four seasons was rich in emotion and plot twists. We had a great time watching the six episodes and are proud to have followed the evolution of the Umbrella Academy. We highly recommend this series: while we were disappointed with the third season, the fourth season completely exceeded our expectations.

THE FOURTH SEASON OF THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY IS NOW AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX!
