Uramichi Oniisan: a new anime to watch before the beginning of the school year!

When you go back to school, you have less time to watch series or anime. But you still have some days left and we have the perfect anime: Uramichi Oniisan. Only 8 episodes are available for the moment and we already recognize a masterpiece.

Uramichi Oniisan is the story of a 31 years old man who hosts a children’s show. Under this joyful image of the poster of the anime hides another aspect. Indeed, Uramichi is in a deep depression. Convinced that he has failed in his life, this former professional gymnast finds himself having to take care of children on television.

This anime will make you laugh by its cynical side. Uramichi is very popular with children, he is always smiling but as soon as the camera turns off, he takes refuge in cigarettes, and he is quickly caught by his mental disorders which sometimes come out even in front of children on TV in the form of sarcasm.

Despite the dark side of the anime, I promise it will make you laugh. What could be better than dealing with important issues such as depression, while always keeping a light touch with a lot of humor?

For anime fans, the casting is just perfect. If you are like me, you love to find the Seiyu in different artworks, and here, you will be served.

It is the one and only Hiroshi Kamiya who dubs the protagonist Uramichi. You definitely know him. In the same universe of comic series, we found him in the role of Saiki Kusuo in the incredible anime Saiki Kusuo No Ψ Nan. But that’s not all, his biggest success remains the dubbing of the charismatic Livai in Attack of the Titans.

We also find other important actors of Japanese dubbing such as Yuichi Nakamura who can be heard in millions of animes as he plays the role of Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen, Shigure in Fruits Basket, or Bruno in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

There is also Mamoru Miyano that you may have already heard as Light Yagami in Death Note, Osamu Dazai in Bungo Stray Dogs, Jean-Jacques Leroy in Yuri!!! On Ice or Shuu Tsukiyama in Tokyo Ghoul. In short, there are a lot of Seiyus that we love and respect. What could be better than that?

Anyway, if you want to have fun with a nice little anime, this is our recommendation of the day and we hope you’ll like it. Let us know what you think about it and see you soon for episode 9!
