After “Big Little Lies” Liane Moriarty adapts “Nine Perfect Strangers” with Nicole Kidman

In 2017, the TV show adaptation of the novel “Big Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty was a success. The series brings together the talented actresses: Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz and Laura Dern. This adaptation won several Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. Today, the writer Liane Moriarty adapts her novel “Nine Perfect Strangers” and the series arrives on Amazon Prime Video on August 20th.

THE SYNOPSIS

The 8-episode miniseries is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty.  Nine Perfect Strangers tells the story of a group of nine people who attend a 10-day retreat led by Masha Dmitrichenko. The goal of the Tranquillium House health and wellness center is to transform and heal the people who attend. In order to do so, the participants must leave behind all means of communication with the outside world in order to focus on themselves. They will only have the rules of Masha, the mistress of the place, to guide them. They eventually realize that something is not right at the Tranquillum House. They get to know each other better and discover who Masha really is.

THE CASTING

Nicole Kidman stars in Nine Perfect Strangers as Masha Dmitrichenko. She is joined by other established actors and actresses and rising Hollywood stars such as Melissa McCarthy (as Frances), Luke Evans (as Lars), Michael Shannon (as Napoleon), Regina Hall (as Carmel), Bobby Cannavale (as Tony), Samara Weaving (as Jessica), Melvin Gregg (as Ben), Asher Keddie (as Heather), and Grace Van Patten (as Zoe) as the retreating participants. The cast also includes Manny Jacinto and Tiffany Boone as Masha’s assistants.
