Every month from now on, Sounds Of Series shares with you its selection of new series not to be missed for the month to come. Between the releases on all the different platforms it’s sometimes complicated to find your way, but don’t panic, we are here to help you!
1. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
No need to deny it, the Netflix series The Bridgerton Chronicles adapted from the eponymous novels written by Julia Quinn are a real success on the platform. So much so that the Queen of this fictional England has inherited its own spin-off, whose events will take place before those of the original series.
This prequel of 6 episodes will focus on the youth and rise to the top of the famous Queen Charlotte. The opportunity to explain her story from her forced marriage with King George to how this love story has shaken the morals of the time, creating the society in which the Bridgertons evolve. The series will be available from May 4 on Netflix.
2. American Born Chinese
Adapted from the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang, American Born Chinese tells the story of Jin Wang, an ordinary Chinese-American teenager. On the first day of school, he meets Jin, a new foreign student. Both of them will involuntarily get involved in a great battle between the gods of Chinese mythology.

This action comedy features the two Oscar-winning actors of Everything Everywhere All at Once: Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan. American Born Chinese will be available on May 24 on Disney+.
3. Silo
Airing for the opening of Canneseries 2023 in April, the series Silo starring Rebecca Ferguson (The Greatest Showman) in the lead role will be released May 5 on Apple TV+. The series is an adaptation of the post-apocalyptic science fiction novels “Silo” by Hugh Howey.
Composed of 10 episodes, the series takes us to a future where the Earth has been devastated and the air has become toxic, causing the survivors to live in a giant 144 floors underground silo governed by strict rules. Citizens who break the law are expelled outside to die in the unbreathable atmosphere. However, little by little, the idea that the leaders are lying about what is happening outside is gaining ground…
